Since 1986, The Miss Circle City Classic® Coronation has worked with area high school females to advance their skills in academic achievement, community service and leadership development. It is not a beauty or talent contest. The program celebrates the accomplishments of each participant. Past winners have established a proud tradition over the years attending institutions of higher learning such as Northwestern, Duke, Princeton, Indiana University, Purdue University, Howard, Hampton University, Spellman, West Point, Dartmouth, Notre Dame, Xavier University, (Louisiana), Florida A&M, Kentucky State, and other prestigious universities.
Prior to the event, participants attend workshops that focus on the importance of teamwork, effective communication (oral and written), goal setting, financial literacy, etiquette, skin care, self- defense, and many more. Each participant is recognized for her participation in the Coronation, and each receives gifts and awards. Miss Circle City Classic® as well as the First and Second Runner-up to Miss Circle City Classic® receive scholarships totaling $10,000.
